Apple TV tvOS 10.2 Released
Yesterday Apple rolled out the fourth pre-release version of tvOS 10.2 to developers who will be testing out the beta to see if their apps would still function well when the official update is released. As of late, the current tvOS version for the fourth-generation Apple TV is tvOS 10.1.1. Apple intends to improve the user experience its digital media player/microconsole provides with tvOS 10.2.
Interestingly, tvOS 10.2 Beta 4 is no more than a bug fix release and improves performance around certain corners. If you have the software installed on your Apple TV 4 right now, then it’s highly recommended that you go ahead and update your set-top box without giving it a second thought.
Given we are on the fourth beta of Apple’s software, it won’t be long till the final version comes knocking on our doors. Until then, make sure you keep your devices updated whenever a ping comes in from Apple.
Apart from the aforesaid tweaks, tvOS 10.2 is also expected to come with fixes for bugs found in the current version of the device’s operating system, as well as those found in the first three beta releases.
Only people with a developer account can download the new beta software at this point. They may download and install the software from iTunes or Apple Configurator. For those who already have the previous beta installed, they may download the new version over the air.
